wow, it’s been a whole week! i can’t believe i’ve been away from my blog for so long. things have been insanely busy around here. well, busy for us. probably pretty slow for other people.
jon’s family came over on sunday, as well as my mom. mom saved my ass, yet again :) i was going to make potato salad, and at saturday 10 pm i finally got a phone call from my aunt with the recipe. i went out in the kitchen to get everything together, and find i am missing one crucial tool without which you cannot make potato salad: a potato peeler. ack! quick phone call to mom, and she’ll pick up some from the grocer on the way over. thanks mom! everyone loved the soup, which is awesome. linsey (jon’s sister) especially liked it. she had her wisdom teeth out on friday, and it was the first really substantial food she had eaten. i gave her a tupperware thingy of it to take with. i tried making beef soup last night, but i don’t think it turned out. i didn’t have too much beef, so i only filled the crock pot half way, and when i went to check on it after a few hours, it was boiling! on low heat! so turned it off and hopefully the beef won’t be tough. i also only had onions, celery, and a ton of potatoes (remember, no potato salad!) to put in it. i wish i had corn and carrots.
there are three beautiful peaches sitting on the kitchen table waiting for me. i’m going to take a picture of them they are so pretty. i keep walking by, picking one up, and smelling it. sooo luscious!
there has been very little knitting going on. i’ve been working 8 hour days, every day. i had off yesterday, but spent a good deal of it at my mother’s doing laundry. only two loads this time, thank god! jon and i have started wearing things until they are actually dirty, instead of wearing it once and throwing it in the pile. i’m not wasting an entire day doing laundry that isn’t really dirty.
harry potter comes out tonight! i won’t be able to get it until after work tomorrow. stupid freaking work! if i hadn’t already asked everybody and their mother if they would cover for me, i would totally be calling out. and of course there’s a birthday party for one of my cousin’s kids, who is turning one. OMG i don’t care, it’s HARRY POTTER. my family just doesn’t get that i don’t like kids. plus, um, he’s one? do you think he’s even going to notice what is going on? he’s going to sit on the floor and play with my mom (who is obsessed with him) and maybe poop or something. i’m getting him a book or something from borders when i go to pick up HP.
and now i must run. sorry this was such a lame post, but once again i am late for work!
