that’s how long it’s been since i’ve updated! crazy! to tell the truth, i haven’t really had much to say. things have been pretty quiet around here.

jon and i are nicely settled in. we love this place. it feels like home, which never happened at our last place. jon’s been busy with work, which is great. i’ve also been really busy with knitting:

that’s ten little chicken monsters right there. i’ll tell you, if i never have to knit another chicken leg it will be too soon :) i’m so glad these don’t have wings. i just finished them today, which is good. the order is for a store’s valentines window display. i wanted to get them done last weekend. i’ve been sick all week though, so they took a lot longer to finish than i thought they would. jon helped! he put all the eyes in while i sewed on the beaks. i’m pretty happy with them.

i’ll be glad to work on something new though. i like variety in my knitting. i have a bunch of new malabrigo that i’ve been dying to get started with. someone wanted me to make them a murky, and i haven’t had a chance to because of the chickens. that will be my first thing to get done.

the last bit of news is that i’ll be starting a new position at work next week. well, technically i’ll be training for the new position at a different store next week, and the week after that i’ll start at my store. i’ll be in charge of the cash office. i’ll count the registers and do the deposites and all that jazz. it’s going to be nice because i won’t have to deal with customers anymore! hooray! plus, i will be able to listen to normal music, as opposed to the elevator crap they play in the store. we have to listen to the same three horrible cds all year long. except for christmas that is. it’s a good thing they change the music at christmas. i think if i had to listen to the Michaels music and have to deal with christmas shoppers at the same time i would go insane.

things have been really busy around here! we’ve moved to a new apartment, had six family dinners, and jon and i have both been getting a lot of job offers. well, i’ve been getting custom orders, he’s been getting job offers :)

there’s also been some knitting! the first in the last two weeks.

carlos is covered in needle felting, i think it gives him a lot of energy and a sense of movement. and chicky is just too cute! she’s a prototype for a large custom order, and if they go with a slightly different design i might just keep her for myself.

things have been going really good around here. jon and i are thrilled with the new apartment. it’s everything we wanted it to be. it’s also really exciting to have all these new opportunities with the new year. his business is really taking off, which is a great relief. All Knit Up has really been picking up speed as well. i need to get knitting so i can restock my inventory!
