this will be the last belly pic of the pregnancy!

i’m going in tonight to be induced. the last two weeks or so i’ve developed pre-eclampsia, and being 38 weeks already, i’m just going for the induction. i’m absolutely sick of being pregnant, and this past week has really been horrible. it’s not what i really wanted, but whether it’s tonight or next week the chances of my being allowed to wait to go into labor naturally are incredibly small (high blood pressure and leaking protein in my urine, which is getting worse not better). at least i won’t be pregnant anymore! i’m looking at this positively, because there is no way to know how the induction is going to go. i’m going to hope for the best, and as long as both myself and the baby are healthy in the end i will be happy. see you all in the new year!

i was right about the stretch marks being just around the corner. baby dropped one week ago, and my lower abdomen has exploded in them. i woke up thursday morning feeling like i needed a sling to carry my belly around in. on the plus side, i had two days of really bad pelvic pain, and now i’m fine. i thought i was going to die if i had to deal with that much pain for the next 3-4 weeks, but after two days of it i guess my pelvis finally adjusted and it’s better than it’s been in a long time. i had a chiro apt. tonight and he didn’t have to adjust my hips or pelvis at all. when i get up from laying down for an hour or two my hips will pop really loud, but he said that is normal at this point, and my joints are probably just finally getting used to the new position the baby is in. i’m just glad to be a little more comfortable. and the heartburn has eased off too! last weekend it was super bad, but now that she has dropped there is less pressure on my stomach and i only get it occasionally.

had a midwife appointment today as well. i’m technically 36 weeks, but i measured at 37! i’m ready to have this baby now :D 37 is considered full term, so any time now and i’ll be happy. i’m still not going to get my hopes up, but i don’t honestly think i’m going to make it to the due date. i’m thinking of it in terms of X number of days until christmas, and then my due date is two weeks after that. i can handle that. technically i’ve got 28 days til the due date. i’m starting to massage some labor inducing pressure points tonight though.

here’s a pic of the belly. don’t mind the rash looking thing, it’s a birthmark. it hasn’t been on the other pictures because this picture is taken from the other side, i just flipped it in photoshop so it would be easier to compare belly growth.

oh, and the trade off for less heartburn is having to pee every 1.5 hours or so now. ugh. at least we’re stocked up on toilet paper, because i won’t be able to fit behind the wheel to drive pretty soon!
