coming soon to all knit up!

i’m really happy with how these guys felted. the little set of bunny sisters is too cute. the tinier the better! i’ve yet to decide what color to do the eyes on the heart one, and the bunnies. once i get that figured out i’ll get the eyes done. i’m working on my photo display too. that’s the only thing holding back the listing of the monsters i’ve done in the past few weeks. it’ll be soon, i promise!

kinder surprises all for me!
that’s right, i’ve found a place to get these delicious treats locally. any international readers are probably wondering what the big deal is. these little babies are not allowed to be sold in the US because they contain small parts, and people here apparently can’t read the warnings people in other countries can read. i don’t believe it’s legal to sell them. and i’m not going to say where i got them, but hooray! i put this “extra robot” (so the paper says) together myself, and it was almost as fun as eating the chocolate.
speaking of chocolate, i’ve been craving it like mad lately. wtf? it’s been over a decade since i’ve had to deal with it, but i’m thinking i might have pms. woe is me.

this is what i did with my morning. i recently purchased a japanese craft book about rubber stamping. i have no intention of picking up yet another hobby :) instead i’m using the designs to do some super cute embroidery. this one will be going to Georgia. her adoptive parents are planning on raising her multi-lingual, so this seemed appropriate. i wish i had a better yellow to use for the chicks though, they don’t have quite enough contrast with the fabric.
Olly the pig, soon to be felted:

i’ll take a picture of his behind then. i made him a curly tail, but i’m not sure if it will turn out.
we got some new pictures of Georgia a week or two ago that i never got around to uploading. they sent us some really cute pics!
someone’s found her lungs:

look how tiny!

new monsters coming soon!
for valentines my husband got me this beautiful painting:

the artist: a.t. whim
he saw me mooning over it on etsy and snapped it up. what a sweety :D and yes, i know it’s not valentines day yet. jon has issues with waiting until the holiday to give the present. this past christmas he did really well and only gave me one present early. this one he said he just couldn’t wait on :)
i love the emotion of the colors combined with the stillness of the figure.
bonus points if anyone knows what tv show the title is from.
I’m excited! I’ve entered two monsters in The Softy Awards. I put lucky ducky in the animal category, and the flying spaghetti monster in the creepy but still cute category. check out the other entries, they are all really great! i’ll be sure to post about it again if i get chosen in the top five for either of them. i have some hope for FSM, but i just don’t think lucky ducky is going to be lucky. there are too many really great entries in the animal category. still, it’s fun to enter!
i’ve also been knitting. i’ve got a project in the works that hopefully you’ll be hearing about in a few months. i also have something that i know is going to cause someone to smile. liz, keep an eye out :D
